Good AI video starts with a good prompt. Gemini Veo prompts work best when they read like a film shot list — who, where, which shot, which move, which light — and avoid words that make Gemini refuse.
- Subject and place first (the same every scene), then the shot and lens, the action, the setting, the light, the camera move and the colour grade.
- 4 steps: Plan an AI video → Read the scenes → Copy for Gemini → Fix refusal.
- Generate each scene twice and pick the best.
Who is this for?
Creators making AI videos with Gemini who want results that look like real film shots.
The order Veo follows best
Subject and place first (the same every scene), then the shot and lens, the action, the setting, the light, the camera move and the colour grade. Video Planner composes every scene in this order.
Cinematic AI scenes — step by step
- Plan an AI video — in Video Planner.
- Read the scenes — each a full prompt.
- Copy for Gemini — prompt plus the spoken line.
- Fix refusal — if Gemini says no.
Variety without chaos
Plans use 10 shot types, 5 lenses, 10 camera moves and 8 lighting setups — and never the same shot twice in a row — with one colour grade for the whole video.
One-tap fixes
On any scene: 🛡️ Fix refusal makes a refused prompt safe, and 🎬 More cinematic adds richer camera and light.
Example: a plain prompt vs a planned one
Plain: “A girl making tea.” Planned: “Medium close-up, 50mm lens. A 25-year-old Indian woman in a red kurta in a bright home kitchen pours steaming tea into a glass cup; soft window light; slow dolly-in; warm golden grade.” The second looks like a film.
Mistakes to avoid
- Vague subjects. Describe age, look, clothes and place.
- Text in the scene. Veo draws text badly.
- Brands and famous people. Common refusal reasons.
- Different look every scene. Keep one colour grade.
Smart tips
- Generate each scene twice and pick the best.
- Keep the aspect ratio the same for all clips.
- Add voice and music in your editor.
- Save good prompts as templates.
