How SEO for Tube Uses Your YouTube Data
A plain, honest explanation — no legal jargon.
✅ What We Access
Without connecting YouTube (public information anyone can see):
- Your channel's public name, logo, subscriber count and total views/videos
- Your public videos' titles, descriptions, tags, thumbnails, view and like counts and durations
- Basic profile info from Google Sign-In (name, email, profile picture) if you log in with Google
Only if you click “Connect YouTube” and allow it on Google's screen:
- View your YouTube account — your channel name, picture and the list of your videos (including their titles, descriptions and tags)
- Manage your YouTube videos — used only to update a video's title, description and tags when you press “Apply to my video” and confirm
- View YouTube Analytics reports — views, watch time, average view duration, subscribers gained/lost, likes, shares, traffic sources, audience age/gender, countries, devices, audience retention, and thumbnail impressions and click-through rate
❓ Why We Access It
Only to power features you choose to use: Channel Showcase (your public page, video SEO checks and your
private “YouTube Studio data” dashboard), the SEO Generator's “Fix an old video” and “Apply to YouTube”, and
Channel Coach's advice. Everything else on SEO for Tube works without connecting YouTube.
✏️ What We Change on YouTube — and Only When You Ask
- We change a video's title, description and tags only — and only after you choose the new text, see a
before/after preview and confirm “Apply to my video”.
- We only change videos on the channel you connected. The video's category, language, privacy and every
other setting stay as they are.
- Before each change we save the previous title, description and tags, so you can press Undo and put them back.
💾 What We Store, and for How Long
- Public channel and video information and the AI-written channel summary — while your account exists, refreshed when you rescan.
- Your YouTube connection keys (Google OAuth tokens) — encrypted, until you disconnect. We never see or store your Google password.
- Analytics numbers — kept only briefly to show your dashboard (a few hours), then fetched fresh from YouTube. Daily thumbnail impressions and click-through rate are kept for at most 30 days.
- A record of each change you applied (the old and new title, description and tags) — so Undo works; deleted when you disconnect or delete your account.
🚫 What We Never Do
- We never upload, delete or make videos private, and never change thumbnails, playlists or channel settings
- We never change anything without your explicit “Apply” and confirmation
- We never post comments, community posts or anything else on your behalf
- We never access your revenue / earnings data
- We never sell your data or use it for advertising
🤝 Third-Party Sharing
Public video titles, descriptions and tags (and a thumbnail image when you use “Fix an old video”) may be sent
to our AI provider (Anthropic's Claude) only to write SEO suggestions and Channel Coach replies in real time.
This data is not used to train AI models. Your YouTube Analytics numbers and connection keys are never shared
with anyone.
🗑️ When Data Is Deleted
Press Disconnect (in the “Apply to YouTube” box or Channel Showcase) and we immediately revoke our access
with Google and delete your connection keys, cached analytics and change history. Deleting your SEO for Tube account
removes all associated data permanently. You can also ask us to delete your data at any time.
